White Flowers

White Flowers

16cm×20cm

The world that Junko Takao depicts evokes images of traditional Japanese patterns but also sometimes evokes images of Western designs and paintings. In this piece, six flowers are positioned around the vase in a pattern that looks like the textiles of William Morris, a British designer, and it is also a design that could be used on a kimono. Additionally, depending on how the glass is lit, the scale pattern of the silver wire sparkles and this sparkling is a sight of beauty that can only be realized with the techniques of baseless Cloisonné.
